Margaret River tea, for this guide, means one shop on Bussell Highway in Cowaramup, where the blending room and the counter share an address. Seven Seas Tea sources loose-leaf from around the world and blends it by hand in small batches. The founder traces it back to a Mazawatee Tea tin her mother gave her as a child in Africa. She credits a teahouse in Singapore with the idea of making tea more of an occasion in a place that runs on coffee.

Travel runs through the range. Bon Voyage is a French-style earl grey, and Australian Billy Tea is a black blend with a bush-camp theme, the most local-sounding thing on the shelf. There are greens, whites, oolongs, chai and herbal blends too, and most are also sold as a single sample sachet, an easy way to try something new.
