Seven Seas Tea
Organic Earl Grey is a loose-leaf black tea flavoured with bergamot orange oil, light in the cup with a bright citrus scent running through it. The name goes back to the 2nd Earl Grey, a British prime minister, and the style is far older than this particular blend.
Seven Seas Tea hand-blends its teas in small batches at its shop on Bussell Highway in Cowaramup, Western Australia. The business says pesticide-free farming is its first choice when sourcing. It's one of two earl greys the business makes: this is the classic style, and Bon Voyage is its French-style companion.
Pour it black to let the citrus lead, or add a splash of milk for something closer to a standard cup. It works over ice too, on a warm South West afternoon.
