Margaret River Tea Company
Kilcarnup Chai is a masala-style chai of black tea with cardamom, star anise, black peppercorn, fennel, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Star anise and fennel bring an aniseed sweetness, while pepper and ginger give it some bite. It's named after Kilcarnup, on the coast near Margaret River.
Margaret River Tea Company has been working in Margaret River, Western Australia, since 2018. It brings in tea and herbs from growing regions overseas, blends them by hand where it can and packs them the same way. Kilcarnup is one of two spiced chai in a range where many blends carry South West place names.
Simmer a batch with water and then milk on a camp stove, and there's enough for two mugs on a cold night.
