The Amara ring does one thing well: a single 11mm freshwater pearl sits on a band of brushed sterling silver. The brushed finish is soft and matt, so the pearl's glow is the only shine on your hand. Freshwater pearls are seldom exactly round, and each has its own slightly different shape and lustre.
Pearls mean something at MiKi Jewellery. The founder, Nic, worked as a pearl diver in Broome after years of travelling, before she began designing jewellery at her studio in Dunsborough, Western Australia. Every piece starts there as a hand sketch, then is modelled on computer, cast and set, in metals chosen so they can be worn in the sea.
Wear it stacked with thin silver bands, or on its own with a linen dress on a warm evening in Dunsborough.
