Dark Chocolate Pretzels

Chocolate pretzels work because of the salt. A crunchy, salty pretzel under a coat of dark chocolate gives you sweet, bitter and savoury all in one bite, which is why a bag never lasts long. Little Otto's dips salted pretzels in its own dark chocolate and bags them up in the shop.

They're coated in the production room at Little Otto's Big Choc Shop, on the foreshore in Busselton, Western Australia, where free tours run behind the orange wall every day. The shop's name comes from Otto, a blue whale that washed up in the Vasse River inlet in 1897, and the maker tells its own playful version of his story on its website.

They're the thing to put out when friends come over, or to share on a long drive down Caves Road.
