Eagle Bay Olives

Fresh Fruity is a single-variety extra virgin olive oil made from handpicked Leccino olives, which the maker describes as delicate, fruity and buttery. It is an oil for drizzling rather than hard frying: over a salad, through pasta, or poured into a saucer for bread.

The olives are grown in the Eagle Bay groves on Cape Naturaliste Road, Western Australia, on a family-run property planted in 1998 with more than 1,200 trees across seven olive varieties. Eagle Bay picks and tastes each variety separately before deciding whether it goes into a blend or is bottled on its own.

A smaller bottle suits the kitchen bench for everyday cooking, and the five-litre tin is there for anyone who gets through a lot of it.
