Vasse Virgin

Basil pressed extra virgin olive oil is pressed with fresh basil leaves rather than flavoured afterwards, so the basil goes through the whole process with the olives. It tastes green and herbal from the first drop, good for pesto, drizzled over a salad, or brushed over a pizza base before it goes in the oven.

It comes from Vasse Virgin's gourmet food range, which the Margaret River business built around the extra virgin olive oil it has used since it started out making cold-process soap in a family kitchen. The food range grew from there into olives, balsamic vinegars and other olive-based condiments, sold from the company's Margaret River stores.

A 250 millilitre bottle is enough to see a household through a run of summer pasta and salad nights.
