Petra Olive Oil
Extra virgin olive oil from a Yallingup family grove is where the Petra range begins. The maker labels the current bottle as its 2025 oil, a blend made from first cold-pressed olives. Pour it over vegetables straight from the oven, whisk it into a dressing, or set out a saucer for bread.
The Somas family set up the grove in 1999 at Yallingup Siding, under ten minutes' drive from Dunsborough, Western Australia. Petra is the Greek word for rock. Digging a dam on the property turned up granite, and that stone went into the walls of the estate's chalets.
Keep a bottle by the stove, or give one to a friend setting up their first kitchen.
