Rose geranium smells like a rose that's been out in the garden: floral, but green and a little lemony, never powdery. Vasse Virgin pairs it with pomegranate in a 100 millilitre hand lotion built on olive squalane and other botanical ingredients, the kind of lightweight base this Margaret River maker has worked with since it started out making olive oil soap.
The business began in a family kitchen, where Louis and Edwina Scherini first experimented with cold-process soap on an extra virgin olive oil base. Lotions and balms followed as demand grew, and the range took the name Vasse Virgin in 2009. Vasse Virgin now sells its skincare from its own stores in the Margaret River region, plus stores in South Australia.
The tube is the one to keep in the glovebox after a day on the beach, or to post to someone who misses the South West.
