BlackGold is one of Yahava KoffeeWorks' three signature coffees, sourced from the highland coffee-growing regions of Papua New Guinea, marked on the packaging with a Bird of Paradise. It comes as whole beans or ground for a long list of brew methods, in 250g, 500g and 1kg bags, or a 500g refillable tin.
Yahava started in 2001 in a shed on Metricup Road, where founder Alex Kok, known on the label as the Koffee Baron, travelled to coffee-growing regions by motorbike to source beans and roasted them himself. The company has since grown into cafes and stores across Western Australia.
Choose it if BlackGold is the name you remember from a cup on a visit south.
