Yahava KoffeeWorks

Yahava KoffeeWorks began in 2001 in a shed on Metricup Road. By the company's own telling, its founder, Alex Kok, travelled to coffee-growing regions by motorbike to source beans, then roasted and brewed them himself in that shed. The site describes him as a Dutch explorer and calls him the Koffee Baron, and the K has stuck: KoffeeWorks, Kwik Koffee.

Yahava has long outgrown the shed. It now runs cafes and stores across Western Australia, some as KoffeeWorks sites and others as Kwik Koffee outlets. Down south, its main venue is the KoffeeWorks on Andrews Way in Margaret River, with Kwik Koffee drive-throughs in Vasse and Busselton. A store locator on its site finds the nearest. That makes it one of the larger names in this guide, and its story still begins here, in that shed on Metricup Road.

Three signature coffees anchor the range: Kahava, Espresso and BlackGold. Around them sit Specialty Estate coffees, Limited Release coffees and a decaffeinated single origin called Rainfall, which won gold in the decaf category at the Golden Bean Australasia awards in 2026. Coffee comes in 250g, 500g and 1kg sizes, and the grind list is unusually thorough: whole bean, plunger, stovetop, filter, aeropress, home espresso, commercial espresso, and Nespresso-compatible pods. Whatever you brew with at home, there is a version prepared for it.

Beyond the beans there is loose-leaf tea, chocolate, iced coffee and chai essences, and frappe powder. There are reusable cups as well: a Sttoke travel cup, and Yahava's own reusable cups in 12oz and 16oz sizes. A coffee subscription is offered for people who would rather not think about running out.
