The Margaret River Chocolate Company

Nut clusters are the simplest chocolate there is: a handful of nuts held together with just enough chocolate to make a bite. The Margaret River Chocolate Company uses roasted macadamias, so each cluster is crunchy, buttery and a bit lumpy, which is exactly how a cluster should look.

The company started in 1999 in a farm shed on a dairy at Metricup, Western Australia. Its original factory is still there, with free tastings, a cafe and a window where you can watch the chocolate being made, and its sister business, Providore, is also based in Metricup. The maker says it wins more Perth Royal Food Awards than any other chocolate company, year after year.

The box is the one to take to a dinner host, or to open with coffee when the family visits for the weekend.
